Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed as fake a video circulating online that allegedly shows him being received by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

In a statement posted on his X account, Kalonzo clarified that the footage, which has since gone viral, was taken during an event on March 9, 2024, where Ruto met various political leaders.

"Why are they so panicky? The People's Loyal Coalition will NEVER be party to the biggest BETRAYAL of Kenyans for political expediency and temporary comfort," Kalonzo wrote.

The Wiper leader reaffirmed that he has no intention of joining the Kenya Kwanza administration, despite speculation that he may cross over following former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s signing of a memorandum of understanding with Ruto.

A fact-check by the Standard Group has verified that the video in question was recorded during the unveiling of the NADCO report at State House in 2024.

Kalonzo has in the past days criticised Raila for what he termed as betraying Kenyans who have been grappling with the high cost of living, corruption, and governance issues under the Ruto-led government.
