Residents of Malindi Sub County and its environs have a reason to smile after the national government and the Malindi National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) commenced the construction of a Sh48 million Huduma Centre and digital hub in Malindi town.
The services are being offered only in Kilifi town which has compelled residents to incur huge costs and time to travel long distances to get services.
Huduma Centre chief executive officer Mr Ben Kai, who officiated the groundbreaking ceremony at the Malindi Deputy County Commissioner’s offices, said they will have similar centres in all the seven Subcounties in Kilifi County, adding that the aim was to bring services closer to the people.
“The construction of this huduma centre is the most costly because it will be a storey building with a fully furnished digital hub,” he said.
Kilifi Deputy Governor Ms Flora Chibule urged residents to make good use of the huduma centres to improve their lives, adding that services will now be offered closer to the people.
